The costumes on this page were all created by Karen, Karla, or both. They were designed for themselves or for others with varying authenticity requirements.

Karla is wearing an Elizabethan gown, complete with ruff and Spanish ropa, a kind of loose coat.

Karen has on an Italian Tudor gown. She wears an escoffion, or shaped padded headpiece.

In this picture, Karen is wearing an Italian Renaissance gown. Velvet, brocade, and lots of beads.

Karla's gown is English Tudor, out of velvet and brocade. Notice the wide, turned back cuffs, a signature of English tudor gowns.

This model is wearing an antebellum gown, another period in which we specialize.

This "fin de siecle" gown was created, believe it or not, for a prom. she caused quite a stir!

This Gainesboro gown, circa 1790's, complete with hat, demonstrates that what goes around, comes around. The bustle effect shows up 70 years later. 

This antebellum gown has a Spanish flavor. It is being worn at various hostessing functions at local museums.

This frothy pre-Civil War gown would have been worn for balls or other evening functions.

This early Indian outfit, complete with sirwal (pants), choli (midriff top), and sari, was created for Karla's daughter. Note the embroidery on the bodice and cuffs.
